The Sacrament of Confirmation

The Sacrament of Confirmation is one of the three sacraments of initiation, along with Baptism and Eucharist. It strengthens and deepens the graces received at Baptism, empowering the individual to live out their faith more fully. Through Confirmation, the Holy Spirit is given in a special way, granting the individual the strength to be a witness of Christ in the world.

In Confirmation, the individual is anointed with Chrism oil by the bishop or a priest acting on his behalf, and is sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit. This sacrament marks the person as a fully initiated member of the Church, called to actively participate in the life of the Church and continue the mission of Christ.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is typically celebrated for young people in their teenage years (usually around the age of 12 or 13), after a period of preparation that includes catechesis and spiritual formation. Adults who have not yet received Confirmation are also invited to prepare and receive this sacrament.

For more information or to register for Confirmation preparation, please contact the Parish Office. The next cohort will be confirmed in Nov 2025.
