The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick

The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament of healing and comfort, offered to those who are seriously ill, elderly, or facing surgery. Through this sacrament, the Church seeks to provide spiritual strength, peace, and courage during times of physical or emotional suffering. The priest anoints the person with holy oil, offering prayers for healing, comfort, and the forgiveness of sins.

This sacrament is a reminder that God is with us in our suffering and provides grace to help us endure and find strength in His love. It is not just for those at the point of death, but for anyone facing significant health challenges.

If you or a loved one would like to receive the Anointing of the Sick or Communion, please contact the Parish Office to arrange for a visit from Fr Michael.
