Readers and Eucharistic Ministers at St. Augustine’s
At St. Augustine’s, both Readers and Eucharistic Ministers play essential roles in enhancing the worship experience and supporting the faith community.
Readers are entrusted with the responsibility of proclaiming the Word of God during Mass. They read the Scripture passages with reverence, helping the congregation reflect on God’s message. Becoming a reader is an opportunity to deepen one’s understanding of the Scriptures while serving the parish.
Eucharistic Ministers assist the priest in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass. This sacred ministry is a way to help nourish the faith of the congregation through the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Eucharistic Ministers are also sometimes called upon to bring Holy Communion to the sick or homebound, sharing the presence of Christ with those unable to attend Mass.
Both ministries are open to committed parishioners who feel called to serve in this important capacity. Training is provided for both roles, and we encourage those interested to reach out to the Parish Office for more information. If you feel called to serve, we welcome your involvement in these vital ministries.
